Good evening friends!

I’m excited about this session.  I broke the rules.  I allowed things I never allow.  I fought my “always find the perfect light” mindset.  It was hard, but it was oh so good.

This beautiful little family was so lovely to work with.  They gave me complete freedom to shoot the way I wanted, the way I saw their family, what I thought they really wanted to capture.  I hope I accomplished that, but if not, I did capture what I wanted.  🙂

Newborn sessions for me have always been so difficult in a technical sense.  As stated above, I am always VERY particular about the light I am shooting in and making sure it is soft, even, the skin color is perfect, yada yada.  That will always be really important to me, but for this session, I wanted to place a higher priority on capturing the moment.  This really really awesome moment when they brought home their baby girl.  I wanted to capture what their days were really like at this time of transition and excitement.  The change in dynamic, the change in the boys and in Momma.  Everything changes with a girl… with every new child really.  I wanted it to be real life, raw, and “imperfect”.  I think I got what I wanted, and I am loving it.

Congratulations Stowers family!
