I’m Tracy Layne, a photographer of 10 years, teacher for 6 years, and now, your friend, mentor, and cheerleader in the photography world. I’ve been teaching my Light and Life Courses for the last 6 years, with requests on the regular to make them available online. And I fought it for a long time. Because truly nothing replaces in person connection, but I’ve come to understand that that’s just not possible for all the people that I want to help. So I spent months and months creating these online courses to give you the absolute closest thing to in person as I could.
Each course has lecture, slides, and filmed in action content to give all types of learners exactly what they need. But that’s not it. You get ME. Investing in my courses is SO important and SO necessary to learn and grow as a photographer, but equally important, is FOLLOW UP.
You’ll have questions and I need you to ask them. Nothing will bum me out more than a question that goes unanswered because it wasn’t asked. I want to help! I want you to get here. I want you to succeed. I want everyone who wants this to know how very possible it is. But you need more than the courses, you need to stay close. Light is arguably the most important thing to understand as a photographer. The light can make or break the shot so you need to know how to use all of it. In this class we learn to not just work with, but ROCK whatever natural light you have. From high, full sun, to barely there light and everything in between. I teach you how to work it all, giving you the confidence to shoot anywhere, anytime, knowing you have the tools to make it work.
Client Connection
Right after light, I believe the most critical piece of a successful photographer is knowing how to work with people. Your clients have to have confidence in you, they have to feel comfortable, they have to trust that you know what you’re doing. You need to know how to work with adults that don’t want to be there. Kids that won’t “cooporate”. Stressed out Mommas. You need to know how to handle it all, and this course shows you the way. From the most important phrase I say to every client, to my tried and true tricks for kids, it’s all here.
Marketing A Brand You Love
You are the brand. Say it with me. You are the brand. Photography is art with people. And if you want to make a business of it, you have to understand who you are, what you love, and find the people that love the same way you do. In this course we dig into finding your way in the world of marketing and branding to find your dream clients and build a business you love.
Keys To Confidence
All of these courses are important, if you know your light, know your editing, know your camera, but you don’t have confidence? This won’t work. But where do you find it? How do you get it? I can’t tell you how many dozens and dozens of photographers I’ve taught, that know their stuff, create top notch work, but their business still struggles. CONFIDENCE. Every. Single. Time. But you can just flip a switch and turn the confidence on, you have to build it. This course teaches you how.
Clean Color Editing
Learn to edit like a pro in Lightroom and Photoshop. Know the tools than can save a picture you thought was lost, to create a recognizable look that is unique to you, combat the hard lighting situations, and create imagery that’s SOLID. We go through my entire editing process from start to finish, combating tricky colors, image distractions, skin and more.
